No. We do not allow our vehicles to be used for towing purposes.

All Toyota rental cars are non-smoking vehicles.

Can I rent a car using a prepaid debit card?

All reservations and rental contracts must be opened using a credit card or debit card affiliated with a reputable bank.

Do you charge additional driver fees?

Yes, we charge a onetime fee of $10 for each additional driver.

Does my credit card car rental coverage fully cover my rental car?

It depends, often times it is a secondary coverage. Check with your credit card company beforehand to ensure clarity.

Immediately call the branch you rented from, and if possible return the vehicle for an immediate re-inspection.

Do I have to purchase coverage for the rental?

No. You may use your own insurance, however it is highly recommended to purchase coverage to avoid unnecessary claims.

Can I pick up my rental and return it to another location?

Yes. You can pick up and return at any of our five (5) Saipan locations, free of charge.

Why does the rental rate always change?

What happens if I lock the keys in the car?

Toyota rent a Car offers 24 hour, 7 day a week roadside assistance. Please contact your Toyota Rent a Car of Saipan associate for details.

Do you have a lost and found?

If you discover you lost an item in the vehicle, please contact the branch where the rental was returned. They will do their best to locate the lost item.

What to do in an emergency

You should contact the emergency services and your Saipan car rental agent if you are involved in an accident. By law, you are required to provide personal contact details to all parties involved. Failure to stop and provide details where damage has occurred is an offense, where an injury is sustained it is a felony. You must report any incident where damage and or injury has occurred to Saipan police within 24 hours.

Saipan’s traffic laws and rules of the road:

• For visitors who rent cars on Saipan, driving is on the right hand side of the road
• The minimum driving age is 16 years. Drivers must be 21 years to rent cars on Saipan.
• Seat belts are mandatory for drivers and all rental cars’ passengers.
• Children under 12 years must be ride in child restraint or booster seats.
• The maximum speed limits are: 35 mph in rural area; 15 mph in residential areas; and 15 mph or 25 mph in school zones.
• It is not permitted to use mobile phones while driving rental cars.
• The legal blood alcohol concentration (BAC) is 0.01 %.
• Drivers who want to rent a car on Saipan must carry their valid license with them at all times while driving.
• Every driver must give signals when he intends to change the direction.
• The legal parking position is with the right front and rear wheels of the vehicle within 18 inches of the curb.
• When angle parking is not clearly designated, a vehicle must be parked parallel to the curb.
• It is required to remove keys from the ignition after parking Guam rentals.
• It is advisable for visitors to lock their car in rental when leaving the vehicle.Parking is relatively easy in Saipan however some standard regulations apply consistent with the USA, including:It is not permitted to park or stand any rental cars at:
  • Intersections
  • Crosswalks
  • Between safety zone and adjacent curb
  • Within 15ft of intersection of property / highway intersection
  • Within 15ft of entrance to fire station / hydrant or private driveway
  • Within 25ft of an intersection
  • Within 30ft of any flashing signal (stop sign / traffic light, etc.)
  • In front of a private driveway
  • On any Saipan beach

  Breach of any parking restriction can lead to your car being towed and a maximum fine of $1,000.

• Disabled parking spaces in Saipan are limited, local signage in car parks will denote disabled parking. Parking in these spaces are allowed by permit only. Most rental cars on Saipan are not permitted to park in the Disabled parking spaces.

• At intersections without traffic control devices, the vehicle on the left must yield the right-of-way to the vehicle on the right.
• At intersections with STOP signs, the first vehicle in the intersection has the right to proceed.
• It is permitted to left turns across a solid line.
• Drivers must give a right of way to a pedestrian crossing the road within any marked or unmarked crosswalk at intersections.
• Vehicles approaching from the rear may not overtake and pass vehicles stopped at a crosswalk.
• If no other sign, it is permitted to turn right at a red signal.
• It is not permitted to change lanes in an intersection.
• It is forbidden to make a U-turn:
  • On a curve;
  • At any intersection where a traffic signal controls the movement of vehicles;
  • In front of the driveway entrance or approach to a fire station.
• It is permitted to make a U-turn in the middle of the block in a residential district if there are no cars coming from either direction.
• Traffic in all directions must stop when approaching a school bus that is stopped for the purpose of taking on or discharging students.
• Horns may be used only when it is necessary for safe operation.
• It is illegal to throw a lighted cigarette or any other flaming or flowing substances from a car on the street or highway.
